You've Come to the Right Place

Are you looking for maps or publications on Illinois geology? You've come to the right place. The Information Office is the first access to the Illinois State Geological Survey for you. We provide basic information about ISGS maps and publications, and we direct your requests for information to appropriate people inside and outside the Survey.

Publications and Map Sales

ISGS publications and maps are sold to the public through the Information Office via on-line orders, walk-in customers, and telephone, fax, e-mail, and mail orders. Last year orders were placed from forty-four states and several countries. We maintain stock for all in-print ISGS maps and publications and loan copies of many out-of-print publications. You may want to browse our online Publications Catalog. The ISGS is the only place in Illinois that stocks all 1,071 of the 7.5 minute topographic maps of the state of Illinois. We can send you an index map so you can identify the map you need, or you can browse our online Index to Topographic Maps. The public is welcome visit our offices to browse maps and publications.
