Geospatial Analysis and Modeling Section

The Geospatial Analysis and Modeling Section (GAMS) mission is to provide coordination and support of the ISGS computing operations. Originally the Survey's GIS section, GAMS responsibilities have expanded to include

• database development, access, and management
• Web-based access to ISGS digital data
• cartography and two- and three-dimensional subsurface modeling
• and, yes, basic GIS

GAMS maintains close relationships with staff throughout the Survey and with colleagues in other government and private agencies in order to develop the most efficient and effective techniques and strategies for using computer technologies in research, data management, and information delivery.
