Research Programs
Since 1905, ISGS research has contributed to Illinois'
economic prosperity, environmental quality, and public
health and safety. Our research programs are carefully
designed to address real-world problems while advancing
basic geologic knowledge and developing cutting-edge
research techniques. We are proud of our past and excited
about the many contributions we are making for the future
of Illinois.
