Ray has filled many roles at the ISGS. He has worked in the Rock Laboratory, the Optical Emission Laboratory, and the X-Ray Fluorescense Laboratory. He once operated the energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescense spectrometer. He retired in 1996, but continues to contribute to the Geochemistry Section. He currently operates the carbon analyzer and he maintains the liquid nitrogen supply for the section. He also cleans field and laboratory equipment in other labs. Ray has been working at the ISGS since 1967.
